A man in his 80’s has been airlifted to hospital following a serious collision in Haslemere.
Surrey Police have confirmed a man in his 80s has been taken to St George’s Hospital with serious head injuries.
It is believed that moments before, the man had been out shopping for shoes in the nearby Cockerill Shoes. Staff who witnessed the incident ran with first aid kits to offer assistance before the arrival of the emergency services.

The collision took place just before 12.50pm at the junction of the High Street and Shepherds Hill and involved a blue Nissan Micra car and a pedestrian.
The man was taken by ambulance to St Georges Hospital, Tooting, with serious head injuries.
The car driver was shaken but is otherwise uninjured.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the town centre. Road closures remain in place whilst emergency services are in attendance. They are expected to reopen later this afternoon.
