The A3 northbound between the junctions with the A272 Petersfield South and the A272 Petersfield North has been closed due to a road traffic collision. The closure is expected to be in place until at least 7pm this evening whilst Police deal with collision that involves a blue Renault car. It is believed that the Renault aquaplaned before colliding with the centre reservation

Specialist recovery contractors JD Motors have been called in to recover the vehicle.
The recovery is in progress.
The collision happened just after 16:30 this afternoon on the north bound section of the A3. The road surface is very wet and drivers are being asked to driver to the conditions of the road. It’s not water that causes a car to aquaplaning. It’s trying to drive through it too quickly Slow down in the wet condition and drive sensibly.
