A person who was struck by a train at Denmark Hill station on Tuesday evening has died.
Emergency services were called to platform four following reports of a person trapped under train on the tracks shortly after 8.15pm.
The person despite efforts of emergency workers was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Denmark Hill station at 8.16pm yesterday evening (22 March) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
