A man has died this afternoon following a collision on the A27.
The A27 was closed in both directions this afternoon after two lorries were in a collision with each other.

The incident happened on the westbound carriageway between the A259 Havant Road/Emsworth and Fishbourne. It is likely to be closed for a number of hours so drivers are being advised to plan their route to avoid it.
Traffic is heavy in the area with queues back to the M27 but the eastbound carriage has now reopened.
Speaking from the scene, Inspector Stuart Goodwin said, “At 14.20 this afternoon, there was a road traffic crash involving two heavy goods vehicles on the westbound carriageway of the A27 between Chichester and Havant. Unfortunately as a result of that collision, a 55-year-old man from Andover died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
“We have our investigators at the scene at the moment who are conducting a thorough investigation. Unfortunately that means we have to close the road for a number of hours. We have diversion routes in place on the old A259 road from Chichester and the eastbound carriageway of the A27 is still open but one lane is closed at the scene of the crash.
“We just ask people to try and find alternative routes but hopefully the road will be open in the next couple of hours.”
The air ambulance was called to the scene, but despite efforts of emergency services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
