The M4 motorway near J8/9 and Junction 10 in Berkshire will be closed until tomorrow after 44-tonne truck overturned – with even Sir Bradley Wiggins caught up in chaos that effected thousands. The incident started to unfold when emergency crews where scrambled to the scene just before 1pm on Wednesday. Fire Fighters from Slough,Maidenhead and surrounding station put out a fire with the lorry and stopped it fro spreading to lorry load of bio mass.

The driver of the lorry was flown to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with serious injuries. Police and Highways England had a major operation in terms of moving traffic that was reported to be 18 miles long in jams off the effects section of motorways of Motorway on both the Westbound and Eastbound.

Contractors have continue to work hard at scene where an HGV overturned has now been Recovery + Barrier repairs are still in progress. The Three lanes of the Westbound section of the M4 will also been resurfacing as well. With early estimates that the carriageway will not reopen until at least 7am on Thursday. Around 300 metres of the central reservation was damaged after the lorry overturned and Highways England is unable to start repairing it until the police finished their investigation
That means work will go on through the night to replace the barriers, a lamppost and to resurface the road.
