Police  are appealing for information following a serious collision in Canterbury.

 

At around 12.20am on Thursday 1 October 2020, a red Subaru collided with a white Vauxhall in Ashford Road, Thanington.

 

A nearby Kent Police patrol arrived at the scene and the driver of the Vauxhall was taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.

 

The driver of the Subaru reportedly left the scene but was arrested a short time later on suspicion of drug driving and has been taken to a local hospital with leg injuries.

 

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, including a search of the nearby River Stour, and anyone with any information or dashcam footage of either vehicle is asked to contact Kent Police.

 

Witnesses can call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538, quoting reference 01-0019. You can also email sciu.td@kent.police.uk
