Three council workers have escaped serious injury after their truck was blown into barriers on the busy M27 near Portsmouth this morning.
The incident happened just after 11am causing major chaos in and around Portsmouth and Fareham as motorway junctions were closed due to the carriageway being blocked.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene and used cutting equipment to free two of the workers who were treated by paramedics and taken to Southampton General Hospital. One person had minor injuries while a further person had injuries to his leg and a third person suffered crush injuries to his chest.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue used cutting equipment to free two of the workers who had become entrapped in the wreckage. Crews from Portchester and Cosham attended the incident.
Highways England said 20m of batters had been damaged as a result of the incident and it will take workers sometime to carry out repairs before the lanes are fully open. It is also believed that part of the road surface has been damaged.
A spokesperson for Highways England has advised that all lanes on the eastbound carriageway will not be fully open until 7 or 8pm this evening. Only the hard shoulder and lane one will be open.
Recovery teams worked under difficult conditions as wind and rain lashed the carriageway.
