Two men who brought class A drugs to Ashford from London for a county line network have been jailed

Kesshai Clarke would transport crack cocaine and heroin from the capital for the ‘Tony’ line and Mohammed Mansary would get local drug users to deliver them.

The two men were arrested at warrants in Bromley and Ashford in October 2021 and were both later charged with possessing the drugs with intent to supply.

After admitting the offences at an earlier hearing, Mansary, 21, of Cahir Street, Poplar, was jailed for four years at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 8 April 2022.

Clarke, 21, of Hillcrest Road, Bromley, was jailed for seven years at the same hearing. His sentence included a term for similar offences committed in Winchester.

Officers from Kent Police’s County Lines and Gangs Team obtained text messages offering heroin and cocaine to drug users in Ashford between July and September 2021.

Investigations into the source of the messages led them to a property in Bromley, where a warrant was carried out on 13 October last year.

Clarke was found climbing out of a window and a search of the property uncovered around £11,000 worth of cocaine and heroin, numerous phones and sim cars and electronic scales.

The following day, a warrant was carried out at Cornes Close in Ashford, where Mansary was arrested and drugs, cash and a knife were seized.

PC Samantha Smith, of the County Lines and Gangs Team, said: ‘Class A drugs of the kind dealt by this county line ruin lives and lead to violence and further crime in our community.

‘Kent Police will keep working to identify those bringing drugs into the county, arresting them and putting them before the courts with a view to securing prison sentences like those handed down in this case.’
