Fifty fire fighters are currently dealing with a major fire on Hayling Island this afternoon.
Seven fire crews have been called to Southwood road. 6 Pumps, Aerial Ladder Platform & support vehicles are in attendance.

It’s understood the fire involves two attached properties that are ‘well alight’. Fire crews from Hayling, Cosham, Emsworth, Havant, Southsea and Porchester are attending the substantial fire.

Firefighters are tackling the flames with three main jets.

One resident has reported flames ‘as high as the house’ could be seen from neighbouring properties. The fire is believed to have started in a conservatory of one of the properties.
