A Multiagency Search has been launched in the Cowes area of the Isle of Wight this evening.
Police and WightSar have been scrambled to the area they are being supported by the National Air Support helicopter. After a concern for welfare called was received by Police.
It is understood that they are for a middle-aged man who has threatened to harm himself
Police where alerted just after 5pm this evening. The National Police Air Service helicopter is also supporting in the search for the distressed man.
The missing man whom Police have a concern for welfare is described as:
– Aged 30-40
– Wearing a red hat, cream trousers
– In a distressed and drunk state
Anyone who sees a man matching this description should immediately contact Police on 101.
