Local police officers stopped a vehicle travelling between Peacehaven and Newhaven this afternoon after receiving information from members of the public that the driver was intoxicated.

The driver provided a positive breath sample at the roadside, with the result being slightly more than double the legal limit. He was arrested and is still being held. He must now appear in Magistrates Court, where he faces disqualification.
