Tribute has been paid to a pedestrian who died following an incident on the A342. Jason Plested, 30, of Woodstock Way, Surrey, died following an incident involving a silver Volkswagen Golf on the A342 northbound, at around 9.10pm on Saturday (7 April). Today his family have paid tribute to him. They said: “Jason, who used to live in Colliers Wood, in south west London, will be dearly missed by his family and friends. “He was known as a benevolent son, father, brother, cousin, uncle and grandson. “His sudden loss has struck many hearts with devastation. He made many of us laugh with his character and losing him is pain we can never comprehend.” Police no longer believe any other vehicles were involved however investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing and officers would like to hear from any witnesses. PC Katherine Carr, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was travelling along that road between 9pm and 9.15pm that has dash cam footage of their journey. “Even if you didn’t see the incident, you may have captured something on your camera which will help us with our investigation, so please get in touch.” Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact us on 101, quoting 44180128230, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
