The incident happened around 8.20pm on Saturday evening
Smoke was seen for miles around bellowing over Southampton’s sky.
Fire crews also discovered a number of smaller fires around the park in which books are stated to have been lit.
Onlookers were shocked that the park had been targeted for a second time in only a matter of week’s.
Hampshire police have been informed about the suspected arson.
