Two men have been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences as part of an investigation into a disturbance in Ashford.

 

Officers were called to Monkton Close at midnight on Wednesday 30 September 2020 following a report that a suspected weapon had been heard during an altercation in the street between two groups of people.

 

A 20-year-old man from Ashford was arrested a short time later. He has been released on bail until 21 October.

 

Later on the same day, a 24-year-old man from Ashford was arrested in connection with the disturbance and was taken into custody where he currently remains.

 

A catapult and some blank rounds of ammunition have been recovered as part of the ongoing enquiries in to the incident.
