Armed Police have been seen deploying on Hardwick Way, Hove this morning following a concerns for welfare after man threaten to self harm. Police and the West Sussex fire service have both been called to the incident.
A Police negotiator is engaging with the man who has revel he has cans of fuel with a property. Firefighters have deployed a number of hose reels that have been primed and charged ready for use. Sussex Police said “Officers were called to a property involving a man he has made threats to self-harm inside the property”. A spokesman for the force said: “Officers, including armed officers, were called to the scene at 9.46am following a report of a disturbance at the house. It is not believed that there is anybody else in the house and a specialist negotiator is engaging with the man.”
