A pizza delivery rider has been left fighting for his life following a serious collision on the Isle of Wight
A road remains in Police lockdown with a full forensic collision investigation taking place after the Domino’s rider ploughed his machine into a wall and collapsed in the middle of the road.
Specialists are this morning examining a section of road on the A3054 between Sandown and Shanklin following the early morning crash.
Paramedics tended to the motorcyclist who was rushed to St Mary’s hospital but has since been airlifted to the specialist neurological trauma centre in Southampton.
The life changing collision took place just after 3am on Saturday morning.
The machine the rider was using remains in a heap in the middle of the road being examined by a collision investigation specialist.
Officers are attempting to find out if a second vehicle was involved in the serious collision.
Road closures are in place until at least 8am on Saturday morning.
Hampshire Constablary are expected to release further details later, they have released an appeal for drivers who may have captured the rider on dash cam to contact them on 101.
