A disqualified driver is facing a prison sentence after failing to stop and making off from Police this afternoon on the Isle of Wight.
The local man was arrested by Police following a pursuit in a Ford Fiesta through country lanes
in the quiet village of Adgestone on Tuesday.
At around 11.30am Officers indicated for the vehicle to stop after a report had been circulated that the vehicle had been stolen.
The driver spotted Police and took the sporty hatch on a pursuit around country lanes between Winford and Alverstone.
After losing control and ploughing into a wooden fence the pursuing officers arrested the menace who has been taken to Newport Police station.
Officers have since recovered the vehicle from Borthwood Lane.
A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that a 28-year-old man from Ventnor has been arrested and remains in custody for making off from police, TWOC and driving whilst disqualified and no insurance.
The man will be interviewed about the offences and will be put before the court later.
