Man arrested in connection with Mitcham stabbing

Detectives investigating a stabbing in Mitcham have made an arrest.

Police were called to Lammas Avenue, CR4 at 12.00pm on Tuesday, 21 May to reports of two males fighting.

Officers and London Ambulance Service [LAS] attended. At the scene a 20-year-old man had suffered stab wounds to his arm and leg.

He was taken to a west London hospital by LAS where his condition was initially treated as critical but has since been deemed not life threatening.

On Wednesday, 22 May officers arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken to a north London police station where he remains at this time.

A section 60 order was authorised following the incident.
