Families of three homes are tonight counting the cost after a well developed blaze has destroyed three home on a road in Christchurch

Fire crews from Hampshire and Wiltshire and Dorset are still talking the blaze with seventy service personnel to be reported at the scene.
Police have closed off the road in Ilford Bridge near Bournemouth just after 7.10pm.
The blaze broke out in Oak Avenue, near Iford Bridge.

It started at a two-storey house than rapidly spread to two other neighbouring properties in Chestnut Avenue. Fire has also spread to a number of garages.

Three crews were sent following numerous calls to the fire service.

At first it was reported that persons were unaccounted for.

A spokesman for the services has confirmed that everyone is safe and accounted for. The fire has done a fair bit of damage the spokesman said. We have sent additional appliances and neighbouring brigade Hampshire have also assisted with resources.

We have also sent an aerial ladder platform to assist with fire fighting activities. Crews are likely to remain at the incident for sometime.
