David McCorkell, 54 of no fixed address, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey on Monday, 18 November to the murder of Diane Dyer on 18 July.
Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 11.08pm on Thursday, 18 July to a residential address in Oakwood Avenue, Beckenham, following concerns for a female occupant.
Officers and the LAS attended and found a Diane Dyer, aged 61, who was unresponsive and suffering from head injuries.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head and face.
McCorkell, who had been in a relationship with Dyer for two months, was charged with murder after he was arrested on 23 July.
McCorkell is due to be sentenced at the Old Bailey on 18 December.
