M25 Motorway closed in both direction after heavy duty crane overturns and crosses over near the M11

The M25 is currently closed in both directions. Clockwise is closed within J27 (M11) with delays of at least 30 minutes covering several miles of the carriageway. Anti-clockwise carriageway is closed between J28 and J27. The closure is due to a road traffic collision involving a HGV that has crossed over from the clockwise to the anti-clockwise carriageway and overturned. Emergency services including Essex Police are in attendance.
Road users are advised to expect disruption and allow extra journey time. You may wish to find an alternate route or delay your journey.
Diversion route details and guidance is as follows;
Anti-clockwise – Road users are advised to follow the hollow black square diversion symbol on road signs. Exit the M25 at J28 and take the 1st exit onto A12 towards London. At A12/A127/A118 “Gallows Corner” follow A12 towards London. Follow A12 through “Gants Hill” to “Redbridge Interchange”. At A12/A406 “Redbridge Interchange” take 3rd exit A406(N) towards M11. At M11 J4 bear left onto slip road towards Cambridge. Continue on the M11 northbound and exit at J6 then bear left to re-join M25 towards Watford.
Clockwise – Road users are advised to follow the hollow black triangle diversion symbol on road signs. Exit the M25 at J27 take direct exit slip onto M11 southbound towards London. At M11 Junction 4 bear left onto A406(S) North Circular Road. At A406/A12 “Redbridge Interchange” bear left onto A12 and then take 2nd exit at roundabout onto A12 towards Chelmsford. Follow A12 towards Chelmsford, at A12/A127 “Gallows Corner” take the 2nd exit continuing on the A12 for approximately 2 miles to the ‘Brook Street’ roundabout, take the 3rd exit to re-join the M25 J28.
