Police have arrested two people following the tragic fatal stabbing in Coventry last night (Saturday 29 February).

We were called to reports of a young man found collapsed on Clay Lane in the Stoke area at around 10:30pm.

Ramani Morgan aged, 16 from Birmingham, was found with stab injuries, he was taken to hospital where sadly, despite the best efforts of medical staff died shortly after.

Two teenage boys, both aged 17, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in custody.

We believe they may have been at a house party in nearby Chandos Street.

Enquiries have been ongoing all night and there a series of scenes in the nearby area which we are currently holding as our forensic examinations take place.

Detective Inspector Michelle Allen from our homicide team, said: “This is simply tragic. My thoughts remain with Ramani’s family and friends at this heart-breaking time.

“They are being supported by our specially trained family liaison officers.

“I’m still keen hear from anyone who was at the party or anyone who has any information about what has happened last night to get in touch as soon as possible.

“If anyone was driving through the area last night and has dash-cam footage then I’d also ask them to get in contact. A young boy has died and we need to understand exactly what happened.”
