This is one of the people currently fighting for their life in Southend Hospital after contracting Coronavirus.
Adrian Long is a lorry driver from the Southend area. He has a wife and two children. He was taken into Southend Hospital by ambulance on Friday after suffering with Covid-19 symptoms for a week and developing breathing difficulties.
On Saturday he was put on a ventilator and his family are now praying that his condition does not deteriorate further.
His sister Cheryl wants people to realise the reality of what we’re facing as a nation. She said: “For anyone that still thinks Coronavirus will not affect you or your family and are adamant you will ignore the government advice and continue going out spreading this evil virus, please take a long hard look at my brother and wake up!
“His wife and children had to watch him being taken out of their home on oxygen, unable to communicate. Seeing him like this makes me feel physically sick. He is young and healthy. This can affect you and anyone around you, regardless of age and any underlying health issues.
“I’m sure there are people on everyone’s friends lists that are still refusing to accept the seriousness of all this so can I please ask that everyone shares this awful post. I feel like some people may only accept the truth when they have to look at a photo like this.
“This is not a sympathy post. This is all about educating people to accept the harsh reality of what we’re all experiencing. Please everyone, stay at home and enjoy time with your families. I’m hoping my nephews will have their dad home soon.”
We wish Adrian a speedy recovery and our thoughts are with his family at his time.
