A man has died following a collision in Croydon.
Police were called to Portland Road, SE25 shortly after 7:30am on Tuesday, 14 April, to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a black BMW car.
Upon arrival, officers and colleagues from London Ambulance Service attended to a man in his 30s with severe injuries.
Despite best efforts of medics from LAS, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
The BMW had left the scene prior to officer’s arrival and was located a short distance away within an hour of the collision.
A man [no further details] has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody at a south London police station.
Roads were closed for some time to allow for collision investigation and have now reopened.
