Witnesses are sought by detectives investigating a violent assault in Maidstone which left a man suffering serious injuries.
The incident is alleged to have taken place from around midnight on Sunday 20 September 2020, outside a petrol garage and supermarket on London Road, close to the junction with Stanford Drive.
The victim was approached by another man on the pavement where he was reportedly subjected to a prolonged assault, during which he was repeatedly punched, kicked and stamped on. Police and ambulance crews attended and the victim was taken to hospital with multiple head and facial injuries.
Officers investigating the incident are now appealing to local residents and motorists who may have important information to contact them.
Detective Constable Kate Humpheryes, of west Kent CID, said: ‘This was an extremely violent assault which has left the victim suffering some appalling injuries. We believe the suspect is known to the victim and are working hard to locate and arrest him. At some stage both of them spilled into the road and we are urging motorists who may have been in this area to check for any dashcam footage which may assist our investigation. We are also asking residents to check home security CCTV or doorbell cameras.’
