Two teenage boys were threatened in the underpass near Swindon Bus Station

Police  are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed a man on a bike making threats and demanding money near Swindon Bus Station yesterday (29/09)

In the first of two linked incidents, two teenage boys were threatened in the underpass near Swindon Bus Station at about 10.45am by a man riding a bicycle who threatened to attack them with a knife unless they handed over money.

Neither of the victims were carrying cash and after going through their bags, he rode off in the direction of the town centre. Despite his threats he did not produce a knife.

At 12.15am we received a report from a man who said he had been approached by a cyclist matching the description of the suspect in the earlier incident. He threatened to attack the man if he did not hand over his wallet and the victim handed over £30.

The suspect was described as a black man, about 6ft 2in, wearing a grey tracksuit and a black body warmer. He was riding a white mountain bike.

He was later spotted in Regent Circus at about 12.30pm
