Detectives investigating an assault at a supermarket in Haringey have released an image of a woman they want to speak to.
Police were called at approximately 20:00hrs on Tuesday, 11 August following reports of a racially-aggravated assault and an attempted robbery in a commercial premises on the Tottenham Hale Retail Park.
Officers spoke with the victim, a woman in her 20s, who had suffered minor injuries after a female attempted to take her mobile phone.
It was reported that the victim was queuing at the till when a woman physically assaulted her and began shouting racial abuse. As the victim attempted to call police during the ordeal the suspect tried to steal the victim’s phone claiming that it was her own.
The victim’s phone was returned when the supermarket security intervened.
The suspect then left the scene on a bike.
The woman is believed to be approximately 5ft 5ins tall with brown hair and was wearing a baby blue mini floral dress and a blue face mask.
Detective Constable Natalie Starkey, said: “We take all allegations of racism and assault very seriously and my team is keen to speak to anyone who was involved or who witnessed this incident.
“I would also appeal to the woman in the image or anyone who knows her to contact us.”
