At 11pm on Wednesday 4 November, the victim was sat on the stairs leading to the platform at Guildford London Road railway station.
He was approached by two men who asked if he had a mobile phone. The two men then held him by the shoulders before a third man approached and stabbed him in the leg twice.
The three men then boarded a train from Guildford London Road station at 23.11. They are believed to have got off that train at Surbiton, and board a second train destined for Clapham Junction in London.
Officers believe the men in the CCTV images may have information which could help the investigation.
