Chipotle, which opened its first London branch in 2010, becomes the first commercial organisation in 2021 to formally back London Sport’s #WeAreNotSpectators pledge to champion grassroots sport across the capital, which will see the restaurant brand included in all London Sport events including the London Sport Awards in 2021 and 2022.

The partnership will also see grassroots sport heroes in London promoted to Chipotle’s thousands of customers with a new monthly recognition campaign that celebrates the dedication of people and organisations working to make community sport happen across the capital.

As part of their partnership, the two organisations will work together to promote healthy nutrition for active Londoners, beginning with the new “London Sport Bowl” which launched onto Chipotle menus in London this month.

Tove Okunniwa, Chief Executive of London Sport said:

This is a really exciting partnership to kick off our new #WeAreNotSpectators pledge, and we are delighted that Chipotle have chosen to work with us to help more Londoners to live active and healthy lives.

“As a brand, they have shown a deep commitment to helping us achieve the really ambitious goals we have for physical activity and sport in London, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together in the coming years.”

Rachael Weseloh, European Marketing Manager of Chipotle, said:

“Specialising in fresh and healthy customisable salads, bowls, and burritos, Chipotle was born of the radical belief that there is a connection between how food is raised and prepared, and how it tastes. Real is better. Better for you, better for people, better for our planet.

Our real food fuels athletes around the world and we’re proud to partner with London Sport in their mission to make London the most active city in the world.”
