Nottinghamshire Police are now investigating the report from the woman, which caused the victim alarm and distress. Officers have issued CCTV images to help with their investigation into a sexual offence at a nature reserve.
It was reported on 27 February 2021 that a lone woman was walking her dog in Oakham when a man reportedly began following her.
He then walked past the victim and turned around to allegedly unzip his trousers, before disappearing into the bushes.
Officers are keen to speak to the man pictured in connection with the incident.
Police Constable Stefan Gregory is leading the investigation. He said: “CCTV enquiries have identified the man pictured to have been in the area at the time, so we are keen to speak to the man in connection with the incident.
“Nottinghamshire Police take offences of this nature seriously and an active investigation is under way.
“We would like to reassure the public that the Neighbourhood Policing Team, together with our partners, are undertaking a number of measures in order to prevent further offending. We have already increased our visible presence in the area since the incident.
“We are appealing for anyone with information in relation to the offence to contact us.
