A Waterlooville man who drove the wrong way down the M27 Motorway in a dramatic police chase involving over 15 police traffic cars, a helicopter and a police search dog has been charged, it has been revealed this evening.
Keith Winning, 45, of Frogmore Lane, Waterlooville, has been charged in connection with dangerous driving, refusing to provide a roadside breath test and failing to stop.
The Silver Nissan Micra was pursued by police between junctions 12 and 11 just after 11.30pm late on Tuesday evening.
At one point, Winning attempted to drive at a patrol car. In another attempt to evade capture with sparks flying from the front wheel of the car, the out-of-control driver drove up the M27 with Police in tow.
Winning will now appear at Fareham Magistrates’ Court on June 15 to answer charges.
