The ride will have a different start point this year due to complaints from Southsea residents. This year they will ride from Alexandra Park then make their way through North End, Fratton and on to Southsea where they will cycle along the seafront, past Old Portsmouth and Gunwharf Quays before returning.
The World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) is an annual demonstration that draws attention to oil and gas dependency and the safety of cyclists on the road. Rides take place in over forty locations in the UK and around the world.
Although most people attend the ride naked, or semi-clothed – and this is encouraged – Simon said that all are welcome: “Anyone can take part. You can do it fully clothed if you want to. It’s ‘Bare as you dare’.
