The westbound exit of Junction 9 of the M27 has been blocked due to a vehicle fire
Police and fire crews have been called to Junction 9 of the M27 near Whitley this evening.

Police closed off the slip road whilst fire crew dealt with the car that has burst into flames. Fire fighters wearing breathing apparatus using a high pressure hose reel Rush hour traffic is queuing back to Junction 10 due to the closure. The driver and passenger who were travelling in the vehicle are not thought to be hurt after the fire broke out in the engine bay of the vehicle.

One lane of the M27 has since been reopened by police and the second lane still remains closed as police wait recovery of the burnt out vehicle.
