All three lanes of the northbound busy M3 motorway have been closed following serious crash.
The M3 northbound near junction six and seven (A30) and Basingstoke has been closed. Police have advised people to avoid the area whilst the incident is being dealt with and seek alternative routes. Emergency services are on scene along with an Air ambulance. The road is likely to be blocked for the next few hours. A spokesman for Highways England has advised that the road is likely to be closed until at 5.15am on Saturday morning.
Long delays are building in the area and traffic is backing up.
Police from Hampshire Roads Policing are also dealing with a further incident at junction 11 on the westbound carriageway lanes closed the hard shoulder lane one and lane two
Police are advising motorists stuck in the closure to remain in their vehicle as they are attempting to turn traffic around.
