Emergency crews from Hampshire fire and rescue service and South central ambulance service remain at the scene of a fire that broke out just after lunchtime today.
Fire crews have been brought from a far a field as Portsmouth to tackle the blaze at the fire at the recycling centre in East Road Marchwood.
Eight fire engines two aerial ladders and the incident command unit from Eastleigh been brought in to put out the fire out.
Fire crews are pumping water from the sea in an attempt to put out the 140 tons of recycled waste. Massive yellow pipes line the road on the Marchwood industrial estate from a high volume pump as 16,000 litres of water is pumped onto the fire via entry holes crews made by smashing windows.

A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue said: “We received several calls saying there was a fire there and lots of smoke.
“We sent two appliances from Hythe and one from Redbridge and quickly made that up to eight.”
Other crews came from Eastleigh, Southampton, Redbridge, Hightown,Fareham,Basingstoke,Fareham,Beaulieu and Southsea
“The building measuring 75m by 25m with a fire in the northeast corner containing domestic waste.
“The building was 50 per cent damaged by fire, the remainder damaged by smoke and heat.”
Up to 14 crew wearing breathing gear and carrying hoses sifted through burning debris. crews are drawing water from a sea.
“We are likely to remain here for sometime.”
