A young Gosport boy has been rushed to hospital this evening after  falling 20 feet from a college roof.
The boy who lives locally was out unsupervised and  is believed to have fallen from the top of the disused building within the grounds of St Vincent’s college leisure centre  just before 8pm this evening.

His mum Emma Louise Clack updated her status she  said :My son fell from the roof he’s in hospital.

The youngster, who had been with friends,  was jumping between building when he fell. He  has been  taken to hospital suffering from a broken wrist  and internal injuries and requires Surgery.  It’s belived that the 11 year  may have jumping as part of dare claim friends of his mum.

A rapid response paramedic and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance and a land ambulance were sent to the scene


St Vincent College principal Matt Atkinson said the college’s caretaker was on site to assist the crews and that a full review would take place into the incident. He said: ‘We made sure the caretaker was at the college to enable the air ambulance to do its job. ‘Apparently the boy was climbing on the roof of the art block sometime between 7pm and 8pm when the college was open. ‘He fell and hurt himself and managed to get back to St John’s Square, where the ambulance was called. ‘We will now carry out a full health and safety review, and we hope he has a speedy recovery.’

The air ambulance landed on the football pitch on Forton Road in Gosport.
