Police are appealing for information following a suspicious incident in Southampton.

Officers were called just before 11am on Thursday, October 20 to a report of a suspicious man who approached an 11-year-old girl on Romsey Road at around 8.30am while she was on her to the Oasis Academy.

The man is described as: black, approximately 30 years old, 5ft 11ins, of average build. He is described as having a wide nose and thick small lips, grade 1 shaved black/dark brown hair and with a black spacer in his ear. He was wearing a light coloured woven jumper.

The girl is described as: white, with long shoulder length hair worn down, wearing a dark blue school blazer, white shirt, black trousers and plain black trainers.

Detective Constable Simon Bembridge, said: “We have been in the area carrying out routine enquiries and reassurance patrols. We are also working with the local school to ascertain the exact circumstances of the incident.
