Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered serious injuries in a collision in Southampton.

At around 4.15pm on Friday, December 2, a pedestrian was in collision with a black BMW 535 on The Avenue near to the junction with Rockstone Place.

The pedestrian, a 29-year-old man, suffered life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he remains in a critical condition at this time.

Officers would like to hear from anyone with information about the circumstances surrounding the collision.

PC Aaron Smith said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at this time and witnessed the collision between the car and the man.

“In addition, we would like to know what happened in the short time leading up to the collision.”
