Police have launched an investigation into the death of a man who was found dead in a property in Southampton this morning.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene following the grim discovery by a fellow house mate within the property on Highfield Lane Southampton.
Residents in the road described seeing four Police cars and an ambulance and a paramedic car. It follows what is believed to have been a house party held at the property last night.
A man in his 20’s was treated by paramedics who were called at 9.58am to the house on Highfield Lane, Highfield, on the corner of Heatherdeane Road this morning in Southampton. Paramedics alerted the Police who sealed of the property this morning. A number of items of property were taken away by detectives. The house remains in darkness with the curtains still drawn.
The owner of Highfield News on Highfield Lane said he was quite shocked. He explained he had been up all night because he couldn’t sleep next thing I know I’m seeing the police and the ambulance turning up and then a private ambulance parked up outside my shop they took out a stretcher from the van and then came back out for a pillow and then took someone away from the property under a white sheet. The Police have spent the morning at the house they where here until about lunchtime. A lot of my customers have been talking about it. It don’t really know how many people live in the house all I know is they are all student I see them all come and go they seem a nice bunch haven’t given me any trouble. Residents who, live within the property said they didn’t want to talk about the incident or the events leading up to it they were too upset.
A spokesman for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police has confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious, officers attended with partners from South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) following reports of a concern for welfare at the property in Highfield Lane this morning Officers found the body of a man in his late 20’s his next of Kin have been informed. The spokesman went on to say that the coroner has been informed of the death and he has asked us to prepare a file.
