A driver has escaped serious injuries after their car left the M27 near Port Solent overnight(Tuesday).
The vehicle, a white Corsa, is believed to have hit a wet patch on the carriageway and lost control. The vehicle flipped, left the carriageway and ended up 20 feet down the embankment on to its roof. The incident happened on the Westbound off slip near to Junction 12 of the M27 Motorway.
Recovery specialist Boarhunt had to bring in a former army crane to recover the vehicle that was severely damaged. One lane of the off slip was temporary closed to allow for the safety of the recovery workers and recovery of the vehicle. The lane closure is hoped to be removed by 1pm this afternoon.
