Two woman remain in custody after the fatal stabbing of a woman at a property in Portsmouth on Saturday evening.
Police launched a murder probe after a woman was killed in the Portsmouth Property.
Officers were called to an address in Toronto Road, Buckland, at 11.58pm on Saturday evening after an injured woman was discovered inside the address.The 36-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene when police arrived. A Home Office post-mortem examination will take place in due course, Hampshire Constabulary said.
Residents tell of their horror after murder rocks quiet street: A man who lives in the road who asked not to be named said he understood that the attack was related to drug deal and the woman has been stabbed by the two woman who didn’t live at the property. There was far bit of noise on Saturday coming from the property and then there was loads of Police in the road an ambulance and paramedic turned but one of the medics came out and spoke to one of the officers saying the wound was very deep and the woman had lost a lot of blood she had bled out.
Two people, both from Portsmouth, have been arrested in connection with this incident; A 43-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 52-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Police have spent the morning searching for the weapon.
Detective Chief Inspector David Brown from Hampshire Police said, “I am appealing for anyone who was in the area of Toronto Road last night who may have seen anything suspicious to come forward and speak to us.
“If you have any information, no matter how small it may seem, please speak to us and tell us what you know.”
