On Thursday at around 5pm Police officers were called to reports of a person seriously injured on Castle Street in Kingston. Numerous units were despatched and we arrived on scene within 30 seconds.
Officers discovered a 40 year old man lying on the floor who wasn’t breathing.
The two officers began CPR, one managing the compressions and the other delivering vital air through a face mask. This went on for some time, sadly there was no positive reaction from the man.
The officers were doing all they could.
As the officers reached their 120th chest compression the man began to stir and suddenly took a deep breath!
He was placed into the recovery position and then when the Ambulance arrived, rushed to Kingston Hospital and was given the best possible care at A&E.
Reports are that he was discharged from hospital recently after making an amazing recovery!
We are proud of our officers, their quick thinking and perfect first aid skills.
