Breaking: A gas explosion at the dance studio New Ferry in Birkhead has flatten a building this evening.
The massive gas explosion at a shop believed to be a chinese takeaway in New Ferry happened just after 9pm on Saturday there no reports of any injuries but lots of emergency services at the scene of the incident.
Many took to social media :A “huge bang” which left some houses shaking has been heard on Merseyside.Hundreds of people from across Merseyside have taken to social media after hearing the loud noise, with some even claiming their houses “shook.”The noise has been reported on both sides of the Mersey, in places including Birkenhead, Liverpool city centre and Sefton Park.
It is not yet clear if anyone was inside any of the buildings at the time or if anyone is injured by the blast.

Residents said they had felt “the earth shake from the explosion”, which left a huge plume of smoke rising into the sky visible from Liverpool which also felt the explosion.
Trains have been suspended in the local area, whilst other services have also been re-routed whilst the Emergency operation takes place.
A worker at a nearby pub who said one of the windows blew through. One man in the pub reportedly had a minor cut to his head but people from the Chinese restaurant rushed in for towels and first aid supplies

A woman who owns the dance school, said “Lost for words..” she wrote.
“I began complete works when it very first opened and to see it build how it did and go from 20 of us to hundreds of them was incredible.
“Hoping everyone is safe.”
spokesman for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘Several two storey buildings over a 40 metre by 50 metre radius have collapsed as a result of an explosion caused by a suspected gas leak at the junction of Boundary Road and Bebbington Road in New Ferry, the Wirral.
‘The buildings are believed to be a row of shops but there has been no confirmation of this yet.
‘Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service currently have four appliances and a special rescue team on the scene and police and ambulance service are also in attendance.’
For those that are needing to use the train in the area – Merseyrail has issued the following update A rail replacement bus is now in operation between Hooton and Rock Ferry. Train services are running as far as Hooton.
