Aylesbury Bucks Tuesday 5th April 2017 Ellen Road Aylesbury. Police closed the Road whilst they carry out accident investigation work. The closure was put in place just after 12am. After child was mowed down by a small red vauxhall van. It is understood that the school boy was crossing to attend a football function at the local Mandeville school in the town. The collision happened on the railway bridge near to the speed camera. The boy who is understood to attended the school has been rushed to hospital by ambulance.

A resident who asked not to be named said he heard a loud bang whilst out doing some work on his garden. He than ended up directing traffic away from the scene whilst the Police and and the Thames Valley Air ambulance attended the scene. The retired engineer said the lad looked pretty bad and there wont screen was all broken on the van. Police have spent the morning carried out accident investigation works and skid tests with the vehicle. Officers from the joint operation Hampshire and Thames Valley Police based at Amersham attended d have are appeal for witnesses who may have seen the collision. It is not clear if the driver involved has been arrested but it is believed that he as been asked by Police to give a first account. The youngests family have been informed. Local Transport for Bucks have tweeted to say Route 9 is terminating at The Mandeville School and isn’t serving the hospital at the moment. whilst the investigation work takes place.

UPDATE: Police have since recovered the vehicle on a lowloader and have finished their investigation works. The road closure that was being guarded by two PSCO has since been removed.
