Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service have confirmed reports of a fire at the David Hunt Tool hire on the Bath Road, in Knowl Hill Reading were a ‘false alarm’.
A spokesman for Wargrave Fire station . said: “We were called to a business in Reading at around 8.40m this evening. Thames Valley Fire control sent two appliances to the scene. However, this was found to be a false alarm made with good intent as a smoke cloak had been activated.
“The incident was left with the police.”

Fire crews used a wrecking bar to gain entry into the premises and two fire fighters were committed in breathing apparatus to check for fire once confirm that the smoke cloak has been activated crews ventilated the premises using positive pressure ventilation
