Two Vehicle Head on Collision Closes Bramley Village in Surrey

A two vehicle head on collision between a car and works van has caused a rush hours traffic nightmare and left a woman in hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries this evening.

Emergency services where called to the scene on the busy A281 on the junction of Station Road in the Village of Bramley on the outskirts of Guildford just after 5.30pm.

A281 was closed in both directions whilst two fire crews from Surrey Fire and Rescue helped free the woman who was trapped in the wreckage of her car after the head on smash.

Local Buses and rush hour traffic have been caught up in the carnage causing long delays with reports of jams back to Cranleigh. Many drivers sought an alternative route but became trapped down in pinch point on village lanes surrounding the incident that happened near Links Road and Station Road. Local buses services to and from Horsham have been severely affected that serve the area have also been effected.
The woman has been taken to the hospital by ambulance after being freed by fire crews. Police at the scene have said that it would be a number of hours before the cleanup and recovery is completed.
