Portsmouth Vigil for Manchester

portsmouth vigil for manchester

A Candlelit Vigil for the dead and bereaved of the bombing outrage in Manchester is being organised for Thursday evening from 6.30pm – Guildhall Square
The number of fatalities has reached 22 with 59 injured, many very seriously. Many of the victims are children.
It is vital all communities come together to grieve and to show solidarity with the families who are trying to come to terms with the death and injury of loved ones who had gone to a music event expecting to be safe from harm.
“We come together, to show unity and to show solidarity at this difficult time,” organisers said “It is vital we do not allow the advocates of hate and division to use this atrocity to divide us. This would hand them their greatest victory.”
“Our greatest weapon against hate is unity. Let us join together in humanitarian solidarity with the people of Manchester.”
Please bring candles prayers and poems, in an event for all faiths and none. The event starts at 6.30pm this Thursday and is expected to last about an hour.
