Officers investigating after a man was found with life-threatening injuries, and who subsequently died, in Eastleigh have charged a 36 year-old man with murder.
Andi Leigh Edwards of Scott Road in Eastleigh has been remanded to appear before Southampton Magistrates Court tomorrow, Monday 10 July.
An investigation was launched after officers were called to Scott Road just before 11.30pm on Thursday 6 July to reports of a man with serious stab wounds. Sadly 22 year-old Alex Woods later died of his injuries.
A 51 year-old woman from Eastleigh who was also arrested on suspicion of murder has been released from custody, but remains under investigation.
Senior Investigating officer, Detective Superintendent Justin Norris said: “Incidents like this have a significant impact on people living in the area and I would like to thank the local community for their assistance. Residents will have seen officers carrying out house to house enquiries. We will continue to be in the area and members of the Neighbourhood Policing Team will be more than happy to speak to anyone if they have concerns relating to this activity”.
