A man has been left fighting for his life after being hit by a heavy goods vehicle in the village of East Worldham.
The road traffic collision happened on the B3004 Green Street just outside Alton. The 35year old man was treated at scene by paramedics and flown by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital after being hit and becoming entrapped under the lorry. His has been left in a critical condition. The road was closed for about five-and-half-hours while a police investigation was held. The driver of the lorry who is from Tamworth was arrested by Police at the scene for an offence of Dangerous driving. Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident. Officers from the Hampshire Roads Policing team (RPU) at Havant are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage that may assist with their investigation. A Hampshire Police spokesman said “We are appealing for witnesses after a road traffic collision at East Worldham near Bordon on Friday 21 July.

A Scania HGV was in collision with a pedestrian on Green Street, the B3004, at 3.05pm.

The pedestrian, a 35-year-old man, is being treated at Southampton General Hospital for life threatening injuries.

The driver of the HGV, a 38-year-old man from Tamworth, has been arrested in connection with the incident. He remains in custody at this time.
