Police and Highways Englands closed 8 lanes of the UK busiest motorway in the early hours of Monday morning after a man with no shoes on threaten to jump from an overbridge.
Officers rescued a distraught man on Monday morning while threatening to jump to her death off the Okcnham Lane Bridge.

The unidentified man, who was on the Wisley side of the span over the M25 between junctions 9 and junction 10, called Police around 1:50 a.m. saying he was suicidal – but didn’t want to jump because there were vehicles below a police source has revealed. Officers sealed off the bridge with cordon tape.

Trained negotiator were sent to the scene and spent time talking to the man who agreed to come down and be transported to hospital for help

Officers managed to talk the man down and place him in custody. He was transported to the hospital for an evaluation by an ambulance from South East Coast ambulance service.

The two hour incident caused major delays on the both sides of the carriage as traffic was stopped.

A spokesman for Surrey Police refuse to comment further or release any further detials on the incident.
